Learning for Life
Encouraging confident and independent students
At Martin House we place great value on academics and the success of our learners. We offer a broad, innovative and modern curriculum aimed at developing highly-motivated, balanced, confident and competent learners.
We follow the National Curriculum for England and Wales. English, Mathematics, Science, Geography and History form the core of our day, complimented by Art, Information Technology, French, Eco, Music and Physical Education classes.
During our Eco lessons we embrace the challenges which face our planet: pollution, poaching, our carbon footprint and sustainability. We look at solutions and we learn appreciate and care for our fragile world.

At present, we have three classroom blocks consisting of nine classrooms in total, each with a maximum of eighteen pupils per class.
Three of our senior classes are equipped with interactive whiteboards to enhance the learning experience, whilst the rest of the classrooms are equipped with televisions. We have a dedicated Science Laboratory / Eco Room, as well as a new Library.
The computer centre is equipped with workstations all with internet access.

Our curriculum is enhanced by STEAM activities throughout the year, but in Term 1, a whole week is dedicated to STEAM.
Here Science,Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics become one field of study that involve creative processes and inquiry to solve, to design and calculate.
By the time learners are ready to move on to the College, they have received a balanced and holistic education.
“The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically.
Intelligence plus character – that is the goal of true education.” – Martin Luther King Jr.
